Programmer, entrepreneur, children’s writer and illustrator Linda Liukas is one of the first top international figures who have confirmed their participation in the fourth enlightED Congress, to be held on the 19th, 20th and 21st of October in a new and innovative hybrid format.

In 2010, Liukas, a Finnish programming teacher, founded the non-profit organisation Rails Girls. Since being launched in Finland, the organisation now works in over 270 countries and is a worldwide movement of programming workshops for girls. It aims to “create a community and provide tools for women to understand technology and build their ideas”.

Liukas is also the author and illustrator of the children’s book Hello Ruby, a story about the world of computers that has been translated into more than 25 languages. Additionally, Liukas participates in conferences and gives talks on education, technology and programming all over the world, having received numerous awards throughout her career.
