The Queen Sofía Museum Collection has been rearranged and, as a consequence, many works have been moved or even replaced. Moreover, the narratives and stories have been transformed: avant-garde art can now be seen, in the Museum's rooms, in a very different and totally new way.
The tour is framed as an approach to these new narratives and the detailed study—both historical and artistic—of the iconic works of our main artists: Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí, Juan Gris and Pablo Picasso, to whom several rooms are dedicated, focusing on his Guernica mural and everything that surrounded its creation. The exhibition will also include works by other artists such as María Blanchard, Ángeles Santos, Maruja Mallo and Paul Klee.
A guided tour of the most emblematic areas of the Teatro Real (Foyer, Royal Box, main hall, 2nd floor halls and terrace). It is an opportunity to get acquainted with the theatre's history through its different rooms, the structure of the building, the decoration of the public spaces, the functioning of an opera house and the many curiosities it houses.
Important note: the route may be affected by changes. It should also be noted that access to the main hall or other areas of the tour may be closed for technical or organisational reasons. The Teatro Real cannot be held responsible for possible restrictions or changes to the routes.
Tour of the exhibition Nikola Tesla. The creator of modern electricity. Considered one of the most important scientific and technological geniuses in history, the inventor Nikola Tesla has become a popular icon. In this exhibition we delve into the life and work of the man who was a forerunner of modern technology and a key figure in understanding the history of science.
Tour of the Code and Algorithms exhibition. In recent years, the words "code" and "algorithms" have been present in a multitude of news pieces and conversations around us. Algorithms make decisions, and we all take for granted their growing role in countless aspects of our lives, while remaining unaware of their nature and implications. In a world organised on the basis of measurements and calculations, where our lives can be reduced to comparable and standardisable patterns, how can we ensure that the human being, with his or her human capacities, continues to be central in the decision-making?
Tour of the Liam Young exhibition. World-building. Known for his captivating visions of imaginary worlds, Liam Young's work explores technology’s impact on people's lives and its influence on the transformation and redefinition of cities. His work as a film-maker and speculative architect has been praised internationally for his contribution to the design and visualisation of the cities of tomorrow, spurring reflection on the challenges we face. Climate change and the challenges of a super-connected and automated world—where the vast opportunities offered by digitalisation must not conflict with privacy or employment—are some of the issues addressed by the film-maker in the exhibition.
Enjoy a guided tour of the permanent collection masterpieces at the Prado Art Gallery, one of the most important art galleries in the world. A journey through works by painters such as El Bosco, El Greco, Goya, Rubens and Velázquez.
